Catalog description
Hardware security covers the intersection of hardware and security attacks/defenses. Students will study a variety of approaches to hardware security in this course, e.g., micro-architectural side channels, cache side-channel attacks, memory attacks, speculative-based attacks, etc. Students will also learn about the various computer architectural components that can be exploited for launching security attacks. Taught with CSCI 5206 . Preferable to have knowledge of CSCI 4230 (Architectural Concepts I).
