Social Justice Issues in Education

Catalog description

Students are introduced to social justice issues as they relate to education. In particular, we will seek to understand the interconnectedness and relationship between the social construction of inequity within education and the ways in which teachers, students, researchers and administrators grapple with such inequities. There will be an examination of historical and social injustices, social movements that seek to overcome these injustices, and contemporary work done by activists around the globe to cause transformation with such issues.
