Introduction to Maternal & Child Public Health focuses on the public health concepts related to determinants of health status and health disparities; behavioral, cultural, social, and political theories of disease and health inequities; prevention and health promotion; community-based interventions; and health policy. It includes historical, theoretical, skills-based, and practical approaches using case examples drawn from major health and health dis-parities problems in New Mexico and the United States.
