Twentieth-century theoretical techniques applied analytically to all music of the century. Scales, modes, set-theory, twelve-tone theory, minimalist techniques, timbral design and specific compositional methods (Messaien, Cage, Carter, Stockhausen) will be discussed with some rudimentary ear-training.
