Catalog description

This course provides a complete review of current anesthesia practice framed against the primary topic areas of the anesthesiologist assistant certification exam. Through lectures, assigned readings, literature review, and student presentations, students are provided a thorough update on issues and topics specific to the professional practice of the anesthesiologist assistant, including the principles of anesthesia, pathophysiology, technology and monitoring, pharmacology, and subspecialty areas of anesthesiology. Course assignments, unit quizzes and full-length practice exams will provide students a culminating review and practice of material likely to be addressed on the national certifying exam.
