Catalog description

This course is designed to prepare students for their future roles within the anesthesiologist assistant profession. Course material will focus on transitioning from student to anesthetist roles, leadership and education opportunities for the professional, and enforce the life-long learning needed within medical professions. Students will gain communication skills in giving and receiving feedback by examining the language of anesthesia non-technical skills, the role of emotional intelligence at work, what our personal DiSC profile tells us about our communication and how our learning preference informs educational tendencies in the clinical environment. Students will also examine the role of conflict styles and how to respond to microaggressions.
