Catalog description

Medical Humanities & Sociology II explores the ethnic, economic, demographic and geographic variables impacting public health in New Mexico and the Southwest. As future health professionals, students gain an understanding of the cultural and social environment that shapes individual and collective experiences related to health and illness, specifically within the context of the diverse patient population in New Mexico. Students will learn concepts, ideas, and theories from social epidemiology, public health, and health communication.
