Catalog description
This course is a simulation and laboratory-based course, integrating immersive experience in clinical anesthesia. The coursework focuses on an introduction to experiences in the operating room with emphasis on the fundamental procedures and techniques used in administering an anesthetic. The knowledge and skills learned prepares students to work within the anesthesia care team. Skills learned are central line placement, ACLS case management, utilization of the Stanford Emergency Manual and advanced anesthetic case management, medication safety, sterile techniques, and key steps in induction, management, and emergence of an anesthetic.
