Catalog description

With a focus on learners in grades 3-6, Methods for Teaching Mathematics in the Primary Grades is designed to build candidates’ conceptual understanding of mathematical content and processes across the areas: Number and Operations, Algebra, Geometry, Measurement, Data Analysis, and the Integration of Literacy Skills in Mathematics. The course will equip candidates with the pedagogical content knowledge and tools to conduct cognitively guided mathematics instruction, assess student learning, remediate difficulties.
