Catalog description

Prerequisites: PSY 210 . This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the processes through which we detect, interpret, and make sense of the world around us. Students explore how sensory systems convert physical energy into neural signals and how the brain organizes these signals into coherent perceptual experiences. Through lectures and discussions, the course examines experimental methods and theoretical models of perception. Topics include the neural foundations of sensory processing, visual and auditory perception, color and motion, depth, object recognition, taste, smell, touch, and multisensory integration.
