Catalog description

Prerequisites: COM 201 or PSY 201 with a grade of C or higher; ENGL 101 and ENGL 102 with a grade of C or higher. This course introduces students to user experience (UX) research and design from a social science perspective. Students examine how people interact with technologies and digital systems across various contexts, including e-commerce, social media, and smart environments. Emphasis is placed on human-centered research methodologies, including interviews, usability testing, and ethnographic observation. Through applied projects, students learn to plan, conduct, and analyze user-based studies that inform the design of accessible and effective interfaces. The course highlights how psychological and behavioral insights guide UX practice in academic, commercial, and community settings.
