Catalog description

Prerequisites: PSY 210 and PSY 307 . Corequisite: PSY 307A . This course introduces students to the development and evaluation of psychological measures. Students examine how constructs such as intelligence, personality, and attitudes are conceptualized, operationalized, and validated through theory-driven methods. Topics include reliability, validity, scale construction, factor analysis, and the ethical use of assessment tools in research and applied settings. Through lectures and practical exercises using the R programming language, students gain experience analyzing test data and evaluating the quality of psychological instruments used across experimental, clinical, and organizational contexts.
