Catalog description
Prerequisites: PSY 210 and PSY 215 . This course examines the complex interplay between biological, psychological, and social factors that shape health and illness throughout the lifespan. Students investigate how behaviors, stress, personality, and social environments influence physical well-being and disease outcomes. Topics include health behavior change, stress physiology, coping and resilience, chronic illness and pain management, healthcare systems, and the impact of social determinants on health disparities. Emphasizing a biopsychosocial framework, the course encourages students to critically analyze pathways to health equity and to understand how mind, body, and society interact to promote wellness.
