Catalog description

Prerequisites: PSY 210 . This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the scientific study of how the mind acquires, processes, and uses information. Students explore the mechanisms underlying perception, memory, attention, decision-making, and language, gaining insight into how people think, learn, and solve problems. Through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on experiments, the course examines the neural and psychological foundations of cognition. Major topics include visual perception, object recognition, memory systems, language comprehension, reasoning and judgment, problem solving, intelligence, and the ways in which cognition shapes everyday experience.
