Catalog description

Prerequisites: ENGL 102 with a grade of C or higher; PSY 210 and PSY 213 . Corequisite: PSY 304 . This laboratory course provides hands-on experience with the qualitative research methods introduced in PSY 304 . Students practice key techniques, including interviewing, observation, transcription, and coding, to collect and analyze social data. Emphasis is placed on research ethics, reflexivity, and collaborative inquiry. Through iterative exercises, students apply methodological principles to real-world contexts and document their findings in preparation for the research methods portfolio. The lab fosters the development of practical skills and confidence in conducting independent qualitative research.
