Catalog description

Prerequisites: An undergraduate degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. This graduate course applies engineering principles to designing, analyzing, and optimizing biologics manufacturing. Students will leverage their foundational mathematics, biology, chemistry and physics knowledge to understand complex bioprocesses, including bioreactors, bioseparation, and formulation. The course emphasizes quantitative analysis, process modeling, scale-up calculations, and quality-by-design principles within regulatory frameworks. A fundamentals module will be made available online in CANVAS with self-graded assignments for all students to work on in the first week of the semester to succeed in the course.
