Catalog description

Prerequisites: MGMT 116 or MATH 105 . This course introduces core methods of business data analytics for evidence-based decision making. Students learn how to frame questions, choose appropriate techniques, and implement analysis in excel. Topics include descriptive statistics, confidence-interval estimation, hypothesis testing, simple and multiple regression, time-series forecasting, simulation, and decision analysis. Through case work and projects, students practice communicating results to business stakeholders, by emphasizing statistical inference, predictive modeling, error evaluation, and forecasting, the course builds a strong foundation for advanced analytics and AI/ML coursework and applications in marketing, operations, and finance.
