Catalog description

Prerequisites: ( MET 235 or MECH 234 or MECH 235 ), and ( MATH 138 or MATH 111 ) all with a grade of C or better. Provides an understanding of the kinds of stress and deformation and how to determine them in a wide range of simple, practical structured problems, and an understanding of the mechanical behavior of materials under various load conditions. The laboratory experience is integrated within the course. Upon successful completion of this course, the students should be able to determine stresses and deformations for a variety of simple structural problems.
