Prerequisites: ME 636 and ME 616 . Advanced methods for the synthesis of mechanisms. Topics include synthesis of planar mechanisms for three, four and five positions, multiloop linages, change of branch and order problems, and optimal synthesis of mechanisms. Synthesis of linkages for special types of motion including straight line motion, cusp points on coupler curves and adjustable mechanisms.
