Catalog description

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge in statistical concepts or instructor approval. The course introduces concepts for statistical computing for the purpose of analyzing data, modeling and performing simulation studies. Topics include importing and processing data, performing exploratory data analysis, fitting models, and producing graphical and numerical output. In addition, optimization and statistical programming for simulations are introduced. Statistical software will be used to illustrate and implement these concepts.
