Catalog description
Prerequisites: ( FED 101 or ET 103 ) and ( CS 100 or CS 101 or CS 106 or CS 115 or SDET 101 ). Restrictions: Junior or Senior Standing. This course introduces students to the integrated mechanical, electrical, and control technologies that form the foundation of mechatronic systems. Emphasizing real‑world applications, it builds foundational competencies in mechanical systems, electrical circuits, motors, automation, and controls. Students learn to read and interpret technical documentation, apply safe work practices, and perform systematic troubleshooting. Laboratory activities reinforce system‑level understanding and prepare students for roles in automation, industrial maintenance, and operations.
