Catalog description

Prerequisites: CHEM 126A and FRSC 307 . This course provides students with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to explore the application of microscopy to the forensic sciences. This course incorporates lectures and laboratory exercises organized in a format to engage each registrant in the analytical and investigative roles of the light microscope in the forensic professions. The general topics and techniques covered in this course include microscope nomenclature, alignment and focus, microscopic sample handling, and photographic documentation of samples.
