Catalog description

Prerequisites: CS 343 , CS 350 , CS 375 with a grade C or better. This course examines the design of computer systems and infrastructure for training and serving modern AI models. Students study how AI workloads interact with accelerators, memory systems, communication fabrics, runtime systems, and distributed platforms. Topics include accelerator architecture, distributed training and serving, runtime support for modern AI workloads, and system optimization for performance and efficiency. Students learn to analyze bottlenecks and evaluate tradeoffs involving latency, throughput, and scalability.
