Catalog description

Prerequisites: CS 288 , CS 332 , and CS 356 with a grade of C or better. This course provides a technical foundation in distributed systems and cloud computing. Students study the principles and technologies used to build scalable, reliable, and secure cloud applications and services. Topics include elasticity, cloud service models, virtualization, containers, virtual storage and networking, distributed-service behavior, serverless computing, edge computing, security and privacy. Students gain hands-on experience by deploying, measuring, and analyzing cloud applications using virtual machines, containers, and managed cloud services.
