Catalog description

Prerequisites: ENGL 102 with a grade of C or higher, and one History and Humanities GER 200 level course with a grade of C or higher. This is an advanced writing course that combines theory with practice and instructs students on how to turn complex knowledge into usable and familiar content for audiences with varying levels of expertise. The course sharpens capabilities to communicate information strategically, ethically, and authentically through varying workplace genres. Students analyze complex communication situations and appropriately adapt their problem-solving skills using technical research methods, data-visualization techniques, and document-design principles. Projects in this course include a data-analysis report, a presentation and pitch deck, and a real-world funding or research proposal aimed to advance students in their career paths.. This course satisfies the three credit 300 GER in History and Humanities.
