Catalog description
This course introduces bioinformatics from an algorithmic perspective, focusing on the computational ideas behind genomic data analysis. Students study how problems such as sequence alignment, genome assembly, and motif discovery are formulated and solved using techniques including dynamic programming, graph algorithms, and probabilistic models. Emphasis is placed on conceptual understanding of these methods and their role in modern bioinformatics tools.
