Catalog description

Prerequisites: ( BIOL 201 and BIOL 202 ) or ( R120 201 and R120 202 ), C or better in both courses. Pre or Corequisites: BIOL 342 or BIOL 352 or BIOL 355 or BIOL 356 . The course consists largely of inquiry-based modules that introduce essential techniques common to the study of genetics, molecular biology, and developmental biology. Students will learn hands-on methods in the context of these multi-week research projects. These projects will allow students to apply key laboratory techniques to answering scientific questions. Student learning will be assessed through multiple means, including written and oral presentations of findings and a laboratory techniques.
