Catalog description

Prerequisites: ENGL 102 and a 200-level GER with a grade of C or higher. Restrictions: Not for ID, INTD, or DD majors. This course explores the use of iterative sketching as a medium to understand art and creativity, and to develop and communicate ideas. Through the study of existing art, from the masters to modern day creatives, and the analysis of existing work, students will gain an understanding of the principals and techniques that have been employed that make images impactful, realistic, and effective. Students will then develop their own sketching and drawing skills through a series of interactive studies and assignments, improving their ability to realize their own creations, develop concepts, and communicate ideas with colleagues and peers.
