Social Welfare Policy: Analysis, Activism, and Advocacy

Catalog description

Course examines the role of and sources of power in policy development and policy implementation. Students develop skills related to: the critical analysis of power and privilege in the policy process; the continuous processes of self-reflection that are essential for social workers working in communities experiencing oppression; and the implementation of activism and advocacy efforts in the abolition of systems of oppression and the pursuit of social justice.
