Catalog description
Required course for all students in the Department of Recreation Management and Policy. Presents and discusses the concepts of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Justice (DEIJ) of marginalized groups for recreation services (e.g., disability, gender, race, LGBTQIA+, etc.). Students will learn and apply DEIJ concepts to recreation policies, planning, programming, implementation, and evaluation practices. Emphasis on volunteer experiences (lab), classroom activities, lectures, discussions, and experiential learning.
