What makes France France, and how did it evolve from a mostly agricultural to a modern society? Using films, essays, newspaper articles, and television this course examines major social, political, and gastronomic trends, events, debates and personalities that help shed light on contemporary French culture. Taught in English. May be repeated for credit barring duplication of materials. Offered in Spring.
