Catalog description
This course focuses on the processes that shape the Earth's surface. Lectures discuss the development and evolution of landscapes in a wide variety of climatic and geologic settings, with an emphasis on understanding the processes that create surficial deposits and landforms. Labs involve topographic and digital map interpretation, geomorphic data analysis, and short field exercises. Students also gain practical experience in geomorphic research by teaming up and completing a required term project. During the final week of classes, student research teams present their findings to the class.
