Catalog description

Machine Learning for Economics bridges economic reasoning with the computational power of AI. Rather than treating machine learning as a black box, this course opens it - training students to think like economists who engineer algorithms with purpose and interpretability. Students will learn to use Python to build, test, and explain machine learning models grounded in economic theory and data. The goal is to equip future economists with the skills to not only apply machine learning responsibly, but also to extend and adapt these methods in pursuit of rigorous economic research and policy evaluation.
