Catalog description

Overview of traditional and emerging approaches to biosolids management strategies for municipal wastewater, agriculture, and industrial processes leading up to the current regulatory framework in New England. Mass, contaminant, energy, policy, and economic concepts of dewatering/drying, composting, digestion, and thermal treatment technologies. Biosolids generation calculations will be performed with BioWIN software. Involves lectures, guest speakers, laboratory/modeling activities, and field tours. Satisfies Design requirement in BSEnvE program.
