Case Studies in Microbiology

Catalog description

This course will draw upon microbiology knowledge gained in previous courses. The case studies discussed will broaden student understanding of clinical and diagnostic information as they relate to microbial pathogens. Additionally, students will work to recognize abnormal results, their clinical significance, and generate etiologic possibilities. Clinical test results will be used to determine the diagnosis for the patient condition, appropriate treatment, and recommended follow-up testing.
