Catalog description

Introduction to stem cells and how biomaterials are utilized in their applications involving biotechnology and biomedical engineering. Lecture topics will include aseptic technique, stem cell cultures, biomaterials engineering, bioprinting, biocompatibility and bioactivity analyses will be covered. Lectures will focus on both traditional contents and the current literature. There will be a focus on preparing a research proposal and a final review paper that will summarize how specific biomaterials coupled with soluble factors allow for stem cell engineering.
