Catalog description

Introduces general principles of pharmacotherapeutic agents as they relate to safe, quality, patient-centered, evidence-based nursing care of individuals across the life span. Focus is on basic understanding of the nursing process, safety of administration, and patient teaching. Proper dosage and calculations with different routes of administration will be presented. This course will also introduce major pharmacologic concepts related to selected systems. Using these concepts, critical thinking will begin to develop as a basis for safe medication administration.
