Catalog description

The course will provide teacher candidates with foundational knowledge on the philosophical, ethical, historical, and social foundations of education in society along with foundational knowledge on the current educational practices and theories on how children develop and learn within different educational environments. This course will also examine how these foundational aspects of education and child development impact and influence each other so that teacher candidates understand their role as dedicated practitioners, reflective scholars, and responsible citizens who can meet the needs of their students in the context of the profession in our changing world.
