Catalog description

This interdisciplinary course examines how music can be used to support stress management, emotional regulation, focus, motivation, and overall mental health wellbeing. Drawing from psychology, neuroscience, and music research, students examine why music influences mood and behavior and learn practical strategies for applying music in everyday and professional contexts. Through guided listening, structure self-experiments, and reflective assignments, students evaluate evidence-based approaches while distinguishing research from common myths. Ethical and cultural considerations are also addressed. Designed for students across disciplines, no musical background is required.
