APPLIED CLASS - PIANO FOR NON-MUSIC MAJORS

Catalog description

Instruction in this course will prepare students with basic keyboard skills. An emphasis will be placed on the following skills during the first semester: keyboard posture, basic notes and rest values, the keyboard and groupings, notation, and notation symbols, five finger patterns, reading notes, intervals, slurs and phrase markings and rhythmic studies. Diverse music with fun games and popular music to sing along with playing the keyboard will show how fun learning the piano can be.
