GEOLOGY BASE CAMP

Catalog description

Geology Base Camp is designed to build community among early-stage geology majors and students curious about the geosciences. The course features local field trips - including one camping excursion - where students practice safe and ethical field techniques. Weekly seminars provide space to explore geoscience interests, understand the requirements of the geology major, and learn strategies for academic success. Students also receive career-building guidance applicable both within and beyond the geosciences. By the end of the course, students will have formed strong connections and developed a deeper appreciation for the role of geosciences in their local community.
