This course provides a supervised pre-externship experience in speech-language pathology, allowing students to apply academic knowledge in community-based clinical settings for 5-10 hours per week. Under ASHA-certified supervision, students develop foundational skills in assessment, intervention, documentation, and professional communication with diverse clients. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based practice, ethical decision-making, and self-reflection to prepare for advanced externship placements.
