READINGS OF AFRICAN AMERICAN WRITERS

Catalog description

Readings of African American Writers will cover an anthology of writings by African American authors from poetry to novels. This course seeks to Improve students' abilities to read critically, to write analytically, and to substantially increase student knowledge of Black literary traditions and authors. Students taking this course will examine more than two centuries of writings by Black authors, from the colonial era to contemporary times, and will learn about the African experience in America through literature.
