Catalog description

This course prepares students to complete the Aircraft Dispatcher Knowledge Exam and prepares them for Aircraft Dispatch II. Students develop the aeronautical knowledge required for certification under 14 CFR Part 65, with emphasis on FAR Part 121/135 operations and real-world dispatch practices. Topics include the effective use of dispatch manuals and resources, emergency and abnormal procedures, flight planning considerations, and the professional and ethical responsibilities of aircraft dispatchers. By the end of the course, students will possess the regulatory knowledge, operational awareness, and decision-making skills necessary to progress through the dispatch sequence and pursue aircraft dispatcher certification and employment in airline operations. The Student Learning Outcomes (SLOs) detailed below mirror the FAA requirements for certification and licensure outlined to obtain an Aircraft Dispatcher certificate.
