ADVANCED DRAWING II
University of Nebraska at Omaha · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course is an expansion upon the traditional and conceptual approaches of drawing as a medium in art-making and studio practices, focused on the progression and refinement of advanced drawing processes to build a foundation towards a studio practice rooted in critical inquiry. Dictated by the use of self-designated drawing materials and adjacent tools, this course asks students to propose and develop a body of work with a supplemental artist's statement cementing the foundations of their own artistic practice. Course assignments are structured through a proposed body of work and optional theory workshops, primarily conducted in-class, with selected class sessions centered on peer-provided critique and progress meetings with the instructor. Research-driven drawings in this course are loosely-guided and observational references are dependent upon a student's individual direction. (May be repeated for credit up to 6 hours.).
