APPLIED COMPUTING AND INFORMATICS SEMINAR

Catalog description

This course is designed to provide students with a broad overview of current research and developments in Applied Computing and Informatics. The seminar format allows for discussion and critical evaluation of published research articles, as well as presentations from faculty and other experts in the field. Each week, students will read and analyze a paper or attend a presentation on a variety of topics related to Applied Computing and Informatics, such as artificial intelligence, human-computer interaction, cybersecurity, big data analytics, biosystems, or other related areas. The goal is to provide students with a rounded understanding of the state-of-the-art in the field, as well as better contextual awareness of the latest trends and emerging research areas. Presentations will be made by faculty, PhD students, industry practitioners, and other experts in Applied Computing and Informatics. Throughout the course, students will develop critical thinking and analytical skills through discussions with their peers.
