The key topics represent the main areas of data mining and machine learning aimed at achieving predictive accuracy more than physical modeling. These topics are standard classification methods, regularization methods, visualization and geometry of data, leading to kernel methods. Finally, the course introduces trees, neural nets, and model averaging.
