Special Topics in Literacy Assessment

Catalog description

This supervised practicum develops advanced competencies in literacy-focused instructional leadership. Candidates engage in structured supervision of pre-service teachers within a reading center, including lesson plan evaluation, instructional observation, reflective conferencing, and data-informed coaching. Through cross-case analysis of student and teacher performance, graduate students design and implement targeted professional supports grounded in the Science of Reading. The practicum cultivates reflective leaders capable of strengthening literacy instruction and mentoring developing educators in diverse learning contexts.
