Catalog description

In this second-level graduate course in American Sign Language (ASL), students continue to develop their receptive and expressive proficiency of ASL by expanding their sign vocabulary, enhancing their knowledge and application of accurate grammatical components of the language, and building upon their knowledge of American Deaf culture with an emphasis on higher order thinking, critical analysis, and cultural competence. Students will also complete a signed storytelling project to demonstrate their understanding of ASL vocabulary, sentence structure, nonmanual markers, and expressive skills.
