Quantitative Methods for the Behavioral Sciences I

Catalog description

This is the first in a two-course sequence on quantitative methods for the behavioral sciences. Topics include the fundamentals of statistics (measure of central tendency, variability, normal distribution, probability theory), hypothesis testing (type I and II error, one-tailed vs. two-tailed tests, and statistical power), t-tests (degrees of freedom, the t distribution, hypothesis testing with the t statistic), and Analysis of Variance (the F-ratio, post hoc testing, analysis of covariance, and factorial ANOVA).
